nurture
the buzz of attraction is like the love of a rose
it fades and withers on my bedroom table
and then I need a fresh supply
I once ventured out to the corner of a desolate wasteland
and there I discovered a tiny budding shoot
I was certain it would not survive
I ran to fetch some water.
Thereafter I added some fertilizer
Daily I ventured out to nurture its frail beginnings
Sometimes adding something new
A treat, wind cover, insecticide and more
Great unconditional care
Then I started to open up too
Sharing my deeper thoughts
Opening up to my own frailties
Moments of meditation
I watched it strengthen and grow
New growth and budding with each season that passed
Now reclining in its shade and splendor
One crisp morning it bloomed in flower
I found I loved it far too much
To place it in a vase
