Our Sugar-coated Culture
Sugar rushes are pleasant, especially during consumption. But there is normally a low thereafter. And long term abuse leads to physical ailments. Actually this sounds familiar to many of the poisons we exploit for feeling alive.
I often am confronted by people looking for a deeper meaning to their existence. They are constantly trying to apply the latest paperback to their lives.
I use this analogy. Would you toy with a Weegie Board? This tool is not much different to Astrology or Feng Shui which are each great tools like so many others.
My point is that it is ill advised to try to apply any of these tools in a superficial way. The best way to use a tool is to become a master at it. If that's too over the top for you, then be an expert or at least become fully immersed. That way you develop into a subject area and are able to benefit in a meaningful way from the technique in all of the dimensions intended. i.e. physical, intellectual, psychological, emotional, spiritual, ...
